The Knox City Council members reviewed an amendment to section 5 in the salary ordinance which pertains to a clothing allowance for the Police Department.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok said the amount allowed had to be changed.
Estok stated, “Every quarter they get a clothing allowance. The budget was approved for $300 per quarter. The salary ordinance says $200. We didn’t put in the salary ordinance so it had to match up.”
The council approved the amendment with a unanimous vote.
Additionally, Mayor Estok reminds residents that the city’s compost area by City Hall is for use by city residents only. He said he will review documents to see if fines can be issued for violators. The area will be monitored.
